Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters, so here's the short version: we collect as little as possible and we keep even less. This page explains exactly what happens to your information when you use YouTube Downloader, in plain words.

Last updated: October 25, 2026

Overview

YouTube Downloader is a free tool. You paste a YouTube link, we look the video up, and you pick an MP4 or MP3 quality. That's the whole job, and the site is built to do it without asking who you are.

This policy covers the website and everything you do on it. It describes what we don't collect, what little is processed automatically, which outside services are involved, and the choices you have. If something here is unclear, ask us. We'll explain it.

What We Do Not Collect

Start with what's missing, because it's the biggest part of the story. There's no sign-up, no login and no profile. You never give us your name, your email or a password just to use the downloader.

We don't host video or audio files. When you tap a quality, the file opens in a new browser tab straight from YouTube's video servers, not from ours. Nothing passes through a storage system on our side, so there's nothing for us to keep.

  • No user accounts or profiles
  • No copies of the videos or audio you save
  • No download history tied to you or your device
  • No list of the links you have pasted

The Video Link You Paste

When you paste a link and tap the button, that link is sent to look up the video live. We use it once to fetch the title, the length and the available qualities, then show them to you.

The link isn't saved to a database, it isn't linked to your identity and it isn't reused later. The next visitor's lookup starts from scratch, just like yours did. Close the tab and the details are gone.

Information Collected Automatically

Like almost every website, ours runs on infrastructure that records basic technical data. Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, keeps standard logs whenever someone visits a page.

These logs exist for two reasons: to protect the site from attacks and abuse, and to keep it running smoothly. We don't use them to build a profile of you or to track you across other websites. Cloudflare handles this data under its own privacy policy.

  • Your IP address
  • Your browser type and device information
  • The date and time of your request
  • The page you requested

Google Analytics and Cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used as a whole. Think of it as anonymous visit statistics: how many people visited, which pages they opened, which countries they came from and roughly how long they stayed. These numbers help us fix problems and improve the tool.

Google Analytics relies on cookies, which are small text files stored in your browser. They don't tell us who you are, and we don't combine them with anything that could identify you.

You stay in control. You can refuse or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block only third-party cookies, or clear them whenever you want. Google also offers a free browser add-on that stops Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits on any site. Blocking cookies won't stop the downloader from working.

Messages Sent Through the Contact Form

If you write to us through the Contact page, we receive what you choose to send: usually your name, the email address you want us to reply to and your message.

We use that information for one thing only: to answer you. We don't add you to a mailing list, we don't send marketing and we don't sell or share your message. If you'd like your message deleted after we've replied, just say so.

Third-Party Services

A few outside services make the site work. Each one processes some data under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to read those policies if you want the full details.

  • YouTube and Google: the source of every video and audio file. When you open a file, your browser connects directly to YouTube's servers, so YouTube can see that request like any other visit to its service.
  • Cloudflare: hosts the site and protects it from attacks, and keeps the technical logs described above.
  • Google Analytics: provides the anonymous visit statistics described above, using cookies.

Children

YouTube Downloader is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you're a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us personal information through the contact form, reach out through the Contact page. We'll delete it.

Data Security

The safest data is data that never gets stored, and that's our main approach. No accounts, no saved links and no hosted files means there's very little that could ever leak.

For the rest, we rely on Cloudflare's security protections and an encrypted connection between your browser and the site. No system on the internet is perfect, but we work to keep the small amount of information we handle protected.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights over your personal information. We respect them wherever you are.

To make a request, send us a message through the Contact page and tell us what you need. We'll respond within a reasonable time. Keep in mind that because we don't keep accounts, links or download history, there's often no personal data on our side to return or erase. For data held by Cloudflare or Google, you can also contact them directly.

  • Access: ask what information we hold about you.
  • Correction: ask us to fix information that is wrong.
  • Deletion: ask us to erase information we hold, such as a contact message.
  • Objection: object to how your information is used, or ask us to stop.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the site changes or when the law requires it. When we do, the new version replaces this page. Check back now and then. If you keep using the site after an update, the revised policy applies.
